Suzy Robinson is a freelance singer with a wide vocal repertoire encompassing music from the Middle Ages right up to the present day. She has toured Europe as part of groups and choirs and as a soloist. Suzy is part of the six-soprano phenomenon, Philomel, a group which commissions and premiers new music, and also performs music from 16th and 17th century Europe. 

During Lockdown, she was involved in A Musical Advent, a venture by a group of musical mums keen to keep their music alive during the global pandemic. This online musical advent calendar was relaunched on 31 October 2021.

Roles Suzy has performed range from Marianne in Marianne Dreams, an opera by Andrew Lowe-Watson, (world premiere at the Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadler’s Wells) and Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at Morley CollegeShe has worked with the all-female group Psallite led by Nancy Hadden and was a soloist on their recording, Three Spells, Judith Cloud. As soloist with Psallite she recently premiered Janet Wheeler’s new work Songs and visions of joy. She has performed at the Purcell Room with Psallite and at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in a Fairy Queen Dream with Harvey Brough and Andrea Brown. She has toured the Netherlands and broadcast with Schola Pietatis Antonio Vivaldi and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

Suzy was a choral scholar at Kings College London. She is an alumna of the prestigious Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme at Aldeburgh where she studied Purcell’s Fairy Queen with conductor Harry Bicket, performing solos in a final concert at the Aldeburgh Festival and participating in master classes with the soprano Yvonne Kenny. Suzy is a regular on the London church music circuit. In addition to performing, Suzy also teaches and is a visiting music teacher at The Cavendish School in Camden. Suzy is also an experienced celebration music planner and can source instrumentalists and singers to fit all requirements. Whether it is a wedding, funeral, baptism or grand party, Suzy can help you plot and plan your special occasion. She can advise on readings, direct an ensemble, or on the day perform as your soloist.
